Friday Favorites - Project Life

For today's Friday Favorites, I am sharing some of my favorite products I use to embellish my Project Life pages. Here they are:

Smash Simple Sticky Notes-Link to Two Peas

I found these flags at Michael's on sale awhile back for around $1 so I picked them up. I really was not sure if I would use them much or not, but I have found I love using them. You get 60 flags per package and they are great little flags to add to PL.  They are sold out at Two Peas, but I have seen them at Target, Michael's and Hobby Lobby. The normal price is $1.99 to $2.20 - definitely worth it in my opinion.

Arrow Stickers from Studio Calico - Link to Two Peas: Here & There, Snippets & Darling Dear

The first two sets of arrow stickers are chipboard, and the others are cardstock stickers. These work well for pointing to a photo with your journaling or as an embellishment. I also like the hearts on the Darling Dear stickers.

Fun Flair Stamp Set by Ali Edwards/Technique Tuesday - Link to Two Peas & Link to Scrapbook.com

This is such a cute and fun stamp set. I have used the images on journaling cards or cut them out and added as an embellishment on a photo.

Webster's Pages Alpha Stickers - Link to Two Peas, Link to Scrapbook.com & Link to BlueMoonScrapbooking

I was really wanting some script alphabet stickers for PL and came across these. They come in different colors and both font sizes are great for PL, especially the small one.

Basic Grey Matchbook Stickers - Link to Basic Grey's site: Hey Boy, Hey Girl, and Fact & Fiction & Link to Fact & Fiction at BlueMoonScrapbooking
I love these little alphabet stickers. If you get the sets from all 3 lines, you get a range of colors and they are fairly inexpensive - especially if you find this line at Joann's. I think I have always bought them at 40-50% off so around $2 or so.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great Friday and an even better weekend!

PL July 2012 - Part 1

Hi! I am sharing my first spread of my project life for July 2012 today. I am basically only sharing the first spread b/c that is all I have completed! I got the Jade Edition from the HSN sale awhile back and wanted to use it right away....so I dug out my July 2012 photos that were already printed and got started. I need to go back to it but trying to get caught up on 2013 first. Here is my spread:

PL Spread

Besides the core kit, I used some various items from Fancy Pants, Studio Calico, Glitz Designs, MME and others. If you have any questions about a specific item, let me know. Also, I have seen lots of pictures of core kits being bought at Hobby Lobby on instagram. I am going to check out a HL near me later today and will post back with what I find - if anything! Happy Thursday!

Basic Grey-Mint Julep

I picked the Basic Grey Mint Julep line as one my favorites last Friday.  Here are a few layouts I made using what I bought of the line: 6x6 Paper Pad, Chipboard, and Flair - and of course, products from other lines. One line that goes fairly well with this one is October Afternoon's Woodland Park, so I used some pieces from that line in my layouts. I also think some of Maggie Holmes' line for Crate Paper would work good as well...I plan to mix those soon and will let you know how it goes...

Ok - on to the layouts - these layouts feature my baby niece, Ruth.  The line is great for baby girl pages!

First Layout - Cute Sisters
The blue floral background paper is from Crate Paper's On Trend Line, and I think it goes well with Mint Julep. It is kind of hard to tell, but I used a lot of strips of patterned paper behind the photo.  Some of them were not long enough so I just cut the strip in a place that I knew would be behind the photo and adhered it to each side of the photo. This is a good fix for 6x6 papers that are not long enough.

Second Layout - Sweet Niece
I did not have chipboard banner pieces with this line so I covered some chipboard banners from the Woodland Park line with paper from Mint Julep. To do this, I stuck the chipboard piece to the back of the patterned paper, cut around it and then added it to the page with a glue dot. This is an easy way to use your old stash and make it new or work with your current layout...

If you have used this line, be sure to let me know. I would love to see what you created with it!
Thanks for stopping by!

Project Life-Week 9 2013

I am sharing Week 9 of my Project Life today. I used Glitz Designs' Color Me Happy this week, as well as a lot of other products (I really did not realize how much different product I used until I started linking items!) The Color Me Happy line is such a bright and fun line! I also used sequins for one of the first times (I have used sequins on one or two 12x12 layouts before) and I pretty much fell in love with using them! Someone on the Studio Calico message boards wrote that they used them like enamel dots...This was kind of an "ah-ha" moment for me so I thought I would try it, and I loved the results...plus they are less expensive than enamel dots. I was able to find a huge pack of assorted sequins at my local Michael's. I think they were $2.99 but may have been $3.99. They were in the kids craft area in case anyone wants to look for them. I also used the sequins from Studio Calico's Atlantic collection - love that there is woodgrain sequins in the pack!

Week 9 Spread

Left Side
I tried to stamp more and use more die cuts from my silhouette cameo this week. My key to using the die cuts is to cut them out before hand. Usually when I am cutting one shape for a certain project, I go ahead and cut some other basic shapes or words that I know I will use later.

Right Side
I really like the woodgrain stars in the bottom left corner. They remind me of these stickers in the SC Main Scrapbook Kit-Spencer's. I used an old star punch and some wood grain paper. Then I stapled them with the tiny attacher...Super easy.

To see most of the products I used this week, here is a link to my project at Two Peas. Some of the items are not carried at Two Peas so here are links to some of those items:

Friday Favorites

Well, it has been a long week...have you ever heard the saying, when it rains, it pours? That is how I feel right now... Not to say everything going on is bad but there has just been more than normal going on lately. I am definitely ready for it to slow down....Anyways, all that to say, I have been absent from my blog the last week or so but am stopping in today to share some Friday Favorites:

Basic Grey Mint Julep 6x6 Paper Pad - Link to Two Peas (currently sold out), Link to Scrapbook.com, and Link to Blue Moon Scrapbooking

If you have read my blog at all, you know I only have two boys, but I could not resist buying at least the 6x6 pad in this collection as well as a few embellishments (if interested, I bought the flair and chipboard - the chipboard was my favorite!). I really love it! I used it on a couple pages of my neices and I think it works great for baby girl and little girl pages.  If you are a girl momma or just have some sweet girls in your life that you want to scrapbook or want an excuse to scrapbook your own little girl pictures, I recommend this collection...It is adorable!

Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Navy - Link to Two Peas (currently sold out), Link to Scrapbook.com, and Link to Blue Moon Scrapbooking

I like a lot of the shadow inks from Hero Arts, but this is one of my favorites. It is the perfect navy and for me, it has worked well with Shadow stamps as well as other stamps.

Studio Calico Hey Day Sentiments stamp set - Link to SSS

This is an older stamp set so I only found it at Simon Says Stamps.  I love this set and use it a lot - more than any other stamp set I have. The sentiments work great for layouts, project life and cards...Definitely a versatile stamp set to have!

Glitz Design-Uncharted Waters Washi-Happiness - Link to Two Peas and Link to Scrapbook.com

I first saw this washi in a Studio Calico kit. I didn't get the kit but did end up ordering this washi. It is a perfect neutral color, and I have found myself sticking it on white cardstock, cutting it out and using it as an embellishment or layering piece on my layouts.

American Crafts Cardstock in Mediterranean - Link to Blue Moon Scrapbooking

I got this color in a Studio Calico kit and really love it. On my screen, the picture looks more blue than it is in person. It is more of a green and it is a great shade. It goes well with a lot of collections right now that have that darker mint green kind of color.

Well, thanks for stopping by and I hope you got some good ideas for your next purchase. Have a good weekend!

Project Life - Week 8 2013

I am sharing Week 8 of my Project Life today.  This is actually the last week I have finished so I am a little behind....I have had a lot going on with family, etc. the last few weeks and have been enjoying 12x12 scrapping so my PL has taken a back seat.  Week 9 is started and I plan to finish it this week and get going on my other weeks!

Back to Week 9 - I used the Studio Calico's March 2013 PL Kit - Neverland a lot this week. Along with the kit, I used the Studio Calico Snippets 6x6 Paper pad, as well as some American Crafts Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm. Here are my pages:
