Project Life 2013-Week 1

Today I am sharing my Project Life - Week 1 layout.  I have changed up a few things from what I did in 2012.  The main changes is I have decided to do it by week and to print my pictures at home or locally.  Last year, I tried to do it monthly and just got too behind. I also got my photos from Snapfish, so I always wanted to have a large order, which would cause me to wait to have pictures printed. I mainly did this because I love  the quality of prints I get from Snapfish especially for the price (and I have tried MANY others - locally and mail only). I also like matte photos, and I haven't had much success locally getting those printed. I have just decided to print at home - which I love but the cost is higher - or use Walgreens - which are glossy - but still look pretty good. I have decided with Project Life that "done is better than perfect", so I am applying this to my pictures as well :)

Well, enough rambling - I mainly used the Studio Calico PL kit and Card kit for my layout this week and some Studio Calico printables (These vary from month to month but you can find the current ones here). If you have questions about any items I used, let me know. I had one insert, so I included photos with and without the insert. Here is my layout for this week:

Scrapbook Layouts - Max

I have been MIA from my blog for awhile but decided to share a few layouts today.  I recently made these layouts of my youngest, Max. One is from his birthday, and one is from Christmas time. I have added a list of supplies used and a link to the items if I was able to find them (some are no longer available for sale).

The birthday layout is of his first birthday and of him in his new car...which he loves. I used my cameo a lot on this one and did a lot of layering of shapes/letters I cut from my cameo. I really liked the effect. I also LOVE the background paper from Crate Paper. It is from their Valentine line, which is fairly girly. I left out the pink and added some navy and orange to make it work for this boy layout.

Supplies used: Background Paper - Crate Paper; Patterned Paper - Echo Park (Blue dot-small & large), American Crafts-Dear Lizzy (Grey Dot), Basic Grey-Fiction (Orange Dot), Heidi Swapp (Turquoise dot); Brad - Basic Grey; Flags - October Afternoon; Enamel Dots - My Mind's Eye; Die cut - October Afternoon;  Date Sticker - My Mind's Eye; Die cut machine - Silhoutte Cameo; Cut Files - Silhouette Store, Studio Calico; Font - Bebas Neue; Tag - Staples; Paper clip - Kikkerland

The Christmas layout is of one of my favorite pictures from the holidays. I love how Max is just looking at the tree. I used a Studio Calico Mask and Heidi Swapp's Color Shine in Gold Lame, and I really liked how the background came out. I will definitely use this combination again and already have a picture in mind of Eli  (my oldest) to use it with...

Supplies used: Patterned Paper - American Crafts (Green and Brown), Simple Stories (Red); Vellum - American Crafts-Dear Lizzy; Stencil - Studio Calico; Mist - Heidi Swapp Color Shine; Letter Stickers - American Crafts Thickers; Hemp Cord - Lawn Fawn; Glitter Shapes and Tape - Recollection Brand from Michael's; Die cut machine - Silhoutte Cameo; Cut Files - Silhouette Store, Studio Calico; Font - Ballpark

I hope you had a great Monday. I will be back tomorrow sharing Week 1 of Project Life for PL Tuesday...
