Project Life - Week 5 2013

A few weeks ago, I *attempted* to share my PL spreads every day - I made it 3 days. Based on my blogging history, I consider that a success!  Joking aside - I am back to sharing my PL spreads with Week 5. This is the first week that I had no insert or extra pages.  I used a lot of older My Mind's Eye mixed in with their newer collections this week.

Glitz Design-Color Me Happy

Happy Tuesday! Today I am sharing some layouts I made with mostly the Glitz Design-Color Me Happy line. I really was not all that familiar with Glitz Design until their releases this year, and I really like pieces of all of them but Color Me Happy is my favorite overall line. I will say I do love almost all of their washi tapes - My favorite is THIS ONE from the Love You Madly collection. (Side note - It goes great with Dear Lizzy's new line Lucky Charm..)

I made this layout yesterday...I actually have not scrapped much 12x12 lately. I just have not been "feeling" it so I have been working on Project Life and cards instead...Well yesterday, Studio Calico announced the Pop off the Page 2 class with Jen Jockish. I took the first class and loved it so I signed up right away for this class....and well, just thinking about the class from last time made we want to make a layout.  If you have not signed up for this class, you really should - especially if you love the layered look. Here is my layout about how much Eli loves McDonald's chicken nuggets right now...

ETA: HERE is a link to this layout on Two Peas. It shows most of the supplies I used. Some supplies are not or are no longer carried at Two Peas, but I found them at Simon Says Stamps. They include: Studio Calico Mister Huey in Powder Blue, Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Red Royal, Prima Chalk Edger in Tin Can, Dear Lizzy Date Stamp, Fiskars Compact Stamp Press and MME Winter Wonderland Enamel Dots.

This layout I made awhile ago when I first received my order of the Color Me Happy collection. I have so many pictures of my boys in red shirts and this line is perfect for those pictures...This one is about how we call Max - Max Man a lot of the time....

You can see my supplies for this layout HERE.

Project Life 2013 - Week 4

I am back for day three of sharing my project life spreads.  You can find Monday's post HERE and Tuesday's post HERE. I am sharing Week 4 today. This week, I mainly used Lily Bee Design Persnickety 6x6 pad and letter stickers and Echo Park Photo Freedom Volume 1 One Day Paper and Element Stickers. I have found that I really like to pick out a different 6x6 paper pad each week to use and then some other sticker sheets and embellishments to go with it. I really like how this mixes up the look of my project life as I think part of the reason I did not keep up last year is because I was bored with using the same supplies the whole time. It definitely takes me longer now, but I enjoy it more and really look forward to it. The 6x6 paper pads also work well because of the smaller scale of the papers, and since I do not use that many 4x6 photos, they are great bases for the 4x6 pockets. Als,o the cost is great for all the different patterns you get!

Well, here are my pages for Week 4 - I also had another insert this week:

Project Life 2013 - Week 3

Today, I am sharing my Project Life spread for Week 3.  We visited my brother's family on the weekend to see their new baby and for all of us to spend some time together. Because of that, I had quite a few pictures this week so I completed two spreads.  I used the Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic 6 x 6 Pad, sticker sheet and die cuts  for most of this week, as well as some of the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan line.  I really love how her lines mix well together. Dear Lizzy's newest line - Lucky Charm - has been one of my favorites lately but I haven't used it for PL yet...hopefully soon! Here are my pages:

Project Life 2013- Week 2

Today, I am sharing my Week 2 of this year's Project Life. I have actually completed through Week 8 and going to *attempt* to share a bunch of my pages this week. All the photos of the spreads are taken..so we will see if I can actually get a blog post written to go with them...

For Week 2, I again used the PL Kit from Studio Calico for January. The other "main item" I used was Pebbles Seen & Noted 6x6 Paper Pad. A lot of the papers from that line were in the Studio Calico main and card kits for January, so it complimented the items in the PL Kit as well. If you have questions about any of the other items I used, feel free to ask in the comments below or email me. I had an insert again this week...and to think, my goal for 2013 was to complete one side of the page protector a week... :) Here is my spread for this week:

Project Life 2013-Week 1

Today I am sharing my Project Life - Week 1 layout.  I have changed up a few things from what I did in 2012.  The main changes is I have decided to do it by week and to print my pictures at home or locally.  Last year, I tried to do it monthly and just got too behind. I also got my photos from Snapfish, so I always wanted to have a large order, which would cause me to wait to have pictures printed. I mainly did this because I love  the quality of prints I get from Snapfish especially for the price (and I have tried MANY others - locally and mail only). I also like matte photos, and I haven't had much success locally getting those printed. I have just decided to print at home - which I love but the cost is higher - or use Walgreens - which are glossy - but still look pretty good. I have decided with Project Life that "done is better than perfect", so I am applying this to my pictures as well :)

Well, enough rambling - I mainly used the Studio Calico PL kit and Card kit for my layout this week and some Studio Calico printables (These vary from month to month but you can find the current ones here). If you have questions about any items I used, let me know. I had one insert, so I included photos with and without the insert. Here is my layout for this week:

Scrapbook Layouts - Max

I have been MIA from my blog for awhile but decided to share a few layouts today.  I recently made these layouts of my youngest, Max. One is from his birthday, and one is from Christmas time. I have added a list of supplies used and a link to the items if I was able to find them (some are no longer available for sale).

The birthday layout is of his first birthday and of him in his new car...which he loves. I used my cameo a lot on this one and did a lot of layering of shapes/letters I cut from my cameo. I really liked the effect. I also LOVE the background paper from Crate Paper. It is from their Valentine line, which is fairly girly. I left out the pink and added some navy and orange to make it work for this boy layout.

Supplies used: Background Paper - Crate Paper; Patterned Paper - Echo Park (Blue dot-small & large), American Crafts-Dear Lizzy (Grey Dot), Basic Grey-Fiction (Orange Dot), Heidi Swapp (Turquoise dot); Brad - Basic Grey; Flags - October Afternoon; Enamel Dots - My Mind's Eye; Die cut - October Afternoon;  Date Sticker - My Mind's Eye; Die cut machine - Silhoutte Cameo; Cut Files - Silhouette Store, Studio Calico; Font - Bebas Neue; Tag - Staples; Paper clip - Kikkerland

The Christmas layout is of one of my favorite pictures from the holidays. I love how Max is just looking at the tree. I used a Studio Calico Mask and Heidi Swapp's Color Shine in Gold Lame, and I really liked how the background came out. I will definitely use this combination again and already have a picture in mind of Eli  (my oldest) to use it with...

Supplies used: Patterned Paper - American Crafts (Green and Brown), Simple Stories (Red); Vellum - American Crafts-Dear Lizzy; Stencil - Studio Calico; Mist - Heidi Swapp Color Shine; Letter Stickers - American Crafts Thickers; Hemp Cord - Lawn Fawn; Glitter Shapes and Tape - Recollection Brand from Michael's; Die cut machine - Silhoutte Cameo; Cut Files - Silhouette Store, Studio Calico; Font - Ballpark

I hope you had a great Monday. I will be back tomorrow sharing Week 1 of Project Life for PL Tuesday...
