The design team was challenged to create a layout inspired by our choice of one of three sketches and our choice of alphas (stash items) to include on our layouts.
Here is my layout inspired by Sketch #1 and using stash items: WX- Washi and Letter X in the Title
I made a layout about my son, Max and his friend, Scarlett. They are only 3 weeks apart and really love being around each other and playing together.  (Having a son named Max, really helped with a X title!) On the layout, I layered a lot of different washi tapes behind the photo and included the orange polka dot washi at the top and bottom. I loved the stars in the sketch and their placement. I mimicked the placement on my cameo and cut out the stars and used the negative as a mask. I used spray mist to fill in the stars.

SOS Challenge - Summer Time - Amy Tangerine Yes, Please

I am sharing the layout I made for the Scrap Our Stash Challenge #6 - Summer Time. The challenge is to make a summertime layout and include 3 or more premade die cuts.

As soon as I saw the challenge, I thought of the Amy Tangerine Yes, Please line. I always love the die cuts that are in the AT lines and Yes, Please is such a summery line...and one that I had but had not used yet! The line is a little more "girly" so I scrapped a picture of Eli and I at the pool from last summer.

I really enjoyed working with this line and completing the challenge. Scrap Our Stash challenges seem to work for me as they are not "too constraining" and they get me to use my stash..really enjoy them.

Happy Monday! Thanks for stopping by!

Saturday Project Life Blog Hop & Friday Favorites (on Saturday)

I am featured on Michelle's Saturday Project Life Blog Hop - Be sure to stop by her blog and check out the other PLer's she is featuring today!

Even though it is Saturday, I decided to share some Friday Favorites as it has been awhile since I have done this.

Fiskars Sure Cut Paper Trimmer

I have been eyeing this trimmer for awhile and finally picked it up at Michael's this past week. I had another Fiskars trimmer but it did not have the wire and the base was smaller. I really liked that this one had a base that was 6 inches across without having to pull out the ruler. This works great for Project Life. I really like how clean it cuts and how easy it is to see where you are cutting. I know there have been mixed reviews about it but for the price, I decided to get it and give it a go - glad I did! I linked to Amazon above that has a good price - I bought mine at Michael's with a 40% off coupon so it was a little cheaper than Amazon.

Teresa Collins - Family Story Enamel Dots

Like a lot of scrapbookers, I really love enamel dots. This pack is a great set of 5 different colors that go with a lot of supplies I have been using lately. These are also a little cheaper than the MME enamel dots. You get 55 for $3.99 versus 60 for $4.99 from MME. The link above is to Part Time Sally, which are 15% off. I did not see them at Two Peas or Scrapbook.com yet. I actually got mine at Archiver's last weekend.

Jillibean Soup - Irish Farm House Soup Die Cuts - Link to Two Peas & Scrapbook.com

These were another find at Archiver's last weekend. These are great for travel or everyday pages and for layering.

Fancy Pants What a Wonderful Day Die Cuts - Link to Two Peas & Scrapbook.com

I got these in a Gossamer Blue kit and really have loved using them. (I pretty much love die cuts so I buy a lot of them!)

Elle's Studio - Saltware Paper - Endless Summer - Link to Two Peas

I love the colors in the paper and it is so fun to use.

Hope you have a great weekend - Thanks for stopping by!

Project Life - Baby Boy Scrapbook - Max #2

Hi everyone - I am sharing the next layout I have made for Max's Project Life baby book. You can see my first pages HERE. I am mostly using the Project Life Baby Boy Edition from Becky Higgins. I have the full kit for amazon but you can also get the mini Baby Boy kit at Two Peas in Bucket, as well as a lot of big box stores and other retailers.

My goal has been to keep this fairly simple, which I mainly have done (for me at least!). In addition to the kit, I also bought the coordinating 12x12 cardstock. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut 4x6 cards from those sheets that are the same size as the 4x6 kit cards - rounded corners and all. This has really helped as I do like to crop and mount a few of my photos. This week I also used the Bundle of Joy sticker sheets from Echo Park quite a bit. Love how easy it is to just add a cute sticker to finish off a pocket! Here is the pictures of my layout - (Note that the pictures are not the best ever - I took them this morning before work so I didn't have a lot of light...so it goes :) )

Feeding Self Layout

I am sharing a layout I made a little while back when I just decided to play. It is definitely a lot messier than my normal style. This layout was all about experimentation and just playing.

I actually started with the background first and then found some pictures that I thought would work .I wanted to use up some 2x6 strips of paper I had left over from cutting 6x6 papers down to 4x6 for project life, so I started by just laying them down and layering one over the other.

Then, I decided to get a little messy and add some paint, stamping and ink droplets (from Mists).

As I was letting it dry, I thought of some pictures I had of Eli feeding himself for the first time and thought they would work well for the page. I added the pictures, some die cuts from my silhouette cameo I had laying around my desk, the title and some tags for journaling. Here is how it turned out:

It was fun to play and get a little messy and in the end, I really like the layout - especially the fact that I got this memory documented!

I hope you have a great Wednesday. Thanks for stopping by!
