Studio Calico Office Hours

Today I am sharing 4 layouts I have made with the Studio Calico Office Hours kits for March. I really liked these kits as they seemed to have the right mix of "girl" and "boy" elements. I have started subbing to all 3 kits as I find myself always wanting them so easier to sub. I try to limit my purchases to just Studio Calico but this month I did have a small order from Scrapbook.com to buy some of the elements I liked in the Add-on kits (or similar) but did not want to buy the whole kit. (At the bottom of the post, I share my supplies.) here are the 4 layouts I have made so far:

On this layout, I used the flower stamp that came in the main Scrapbook kit. I love that stamp! I inked the stamp with some of the Studio Calico Color Theory inks and did some second generation stamping with them. I have found that the Color Theory inks can give a better solid image if you rub an eraser over the stamp first. I did not do that here as I didn't want it "perfect".

This layout was actually based on a Sketch from Studio Calico's Sketchbook 4. I bought the class at a discount when they had a sale of old classes awhile back. I haven't gotten very far into it but have loved what I saw so far and am glad I purchased it.

How cute is he? This is actually one of Eli when he was 10 months old (He is now 4)...I say this all the time but it seems like yesterday that he was this little! I used quite a bit of layering under the photo and love the interest that gives to the photo.

This is a fairly simple layout. I used the stamp from the card kit and the Studio Calico Color Theory inks. The Color Theory inks work pretty well with detailed images. The photo is mounted on water color paper that I painted with the Color Theory Something Blue ink. The inks can work like water colors which I like.

Those are the layouts I have created so far with the kits. I am hoping to do a few more before my April kits arrive. As far as what I used, here is a list (with links if available):

From Studio Calico:
- SC Color Theory Ink in Something Blue, Orange County, Blush Crush, and Mint Hint

From Scrapbook.com: (What I purchased to compliment the kits.)
-Dear Lizzy Daydreamer Diecut shapes (They say chipboard but they are die cuts, which I knew before I purchased.)

The rest of the items (letter stickers, enamel dots, wood veneer, ribbon, etc.) were from my stash. I always use a few items from my stash when working with kits.

I hope you are having a good Thursday - Thanks for stopping by!
Megan
