My Dress - Maggie Holmes Collection

It has been awhile since I have blogged mainly because it has been a chore to get our house ready to list and then keep it clean. We luckily have had some showings this week and more tomorrow so keeping my fingers crossed.

Well, today I am sharing a layout I made with the Maggie Holmes Collection for Crate Paper. I really love this collection but did not feel I had a lot of use for it since I have two boys. However, I ended up deciding to use it to scrap my wedding photos. Scrapping wedding photos seems like such a "big" moment to scrap - I really was never sure how I would do it. Then I listened to THIS Paperclipping Roundtable episode that got me thinking. I decided that I might as well scrap my wedding pictures like I like to scrap because it is for me anyways. I got all my proofs in 4x6, and I have a high resolution CD so really I can reprint picture if I don't like how a layout turns out or decide later I want something different. Anyways, here is my first (and unfortunately, only) layout I have made of my wedding from...um...5 1/2 years ago...

As far as the journaling goes, I tried to think about what I would like to now know about my mom or grandmother's wedding dress. I plan to add some more journaling about how special it was for my mom to be with me - probably with a picture of me actually in the dress...

(Also, my photographer was Jamie Schramm in Nashville, TN. I am not sure she is still doing photography as I can no longer access her website but thought I would still give her credit just in case :) .)

Thanks for stopping by and hope you are having a good week!

Project Life - Week 12 2013

I haven't shared much on my blog this week...well the last couple of weeks because I have been busy at work and getting our house ready to put on the market. My husband took a job that is about an hour from our house, so we are trying to move closer that way. Getting a house ready with a 3 year old and a 1 1/2 year old is all but impossible! I am just hoping it sells fast as I might go crazy trying to keep it looking nice every day....

Well, back to scrapbooking, I am sharing PL week 12 today. I have not shared Week 11 yet. It is done but it is a big one so I haven't finished editing the pictures yet.  Anyways, for Week 12, I used Studio Calico's Snippets line. I mainly used the 6x6 pad and cut apart sheet for the "backgrounds" and then various embellishments from Snippets and other lines.

If you have any questions about specific items I used, let me know. Hope you have an enjoyable Friday! I hope mine is a productive one as my husband and I will be working on the house as the boys are at daycare...don't be jealous :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas in July Blog Hop

Welcome to the Christmas in July Blog Hop, inspiring you to your Christmas stash and use it before all the new collections are introduced this month. Join the fun and create something too, use the hashtag #scrapbookchristmas in twitter, facebook or instagram.

I created a layout using a lot of Crate Paper's Christmas line from last year - Sleighride, as well as other items from my stash. The picture is one from "our Christmas" morning. We had to celebrate Christmas a little later than we wanted this year due to my youngest, Max, being in the hospital over Christmas. (He had a condition called ITP - low platelets - but he is completely fine now and it is typically a one time thing so no real worries of re-occurence - Just an FYI :) )

ETA: Here is a link to my project at Two Peas: December 28 - Our Christmas DayA lot of the products I used are no longer available at Two Peas. I did find the Crate Paper 6x6 pad at Simon Says Stamp, which is what I mainly used for the paper.

Next on the hop is Jen. You can find her at http://myreillyboysandme.blogspot.com. If you get lost along the way, you can head back to Ruth's blog at http://scrapmachine.com/ for a full list of participants.

SOS Challenge #5 - Sweet Brothers Layout

Today I am sharing a layout I made for the Scrap Our Stash Challenge #5 - Red, White and Blue. I thought about doing a July 4th layout, but when I came across this sweet picture of my oldest son, Eli, holding his little brother, Max, I decided I needed to scrap it right away and thought the colors in the photo went well with the red, white and blue color scheme.  The challenge was to use red, white and blue and the only other color you can use is kraft and to have 3 pre-made star embellishments on the layout.

Here is my layout (My pre-made star embellishments are the red chipboard stars from Studio Calico's Snippets line.)

Sweetheart Layout

For the layout I am sharing today, I actually "scraplifted" myself. I used mostly the same design - I moved the journaling - and a lot of the same products as my Enjoy the Ride-Today layout. I really loved the colors and design of the layout so just decided to make a similar one with a cute picture I had of my son, Eli. (The other layout is my son, Max.)

I really like stamping on the background paper before I add my photo and paper layers. I usually position my paper/photo first and note where I will likely place it.  I move the paper/photo and then stamp in areas where I want it to "peek" out

I had previously die cute the "sweetheart" and "3" and the star with my cameo on white cardstock. I used Prima Chalk ink to "color" both of them.

I love the "Photo Love" stamp from Ali Edwards for Technique Tuesday. I stamped it in the background and then drew lines and wrote my journaling over top of the stamps.

Here is a link to my layout at Two Peas, which shows a lot of the products I used. If you have questions about any others, let me know.

For those in the US, I hope you have a Happy July 4th Holiday! Thanks for stopping by!

Beach Girl - Lily Bee Design/Gossamer Blue Challenge

Today I am sharing a layout I made for the Lily Bee Design and Gossamer Blue Challenge. The main parts of the Challenge were for it to be about Summertime and to use 50% to 60% of Lily Bee Design products. I had just bought some of the papers and stickers from Lily Bee Design's new Sweet Shoppe line and mixed it with their "older" line Persnickety.

The picture on the layout is of my niece, Micah, at the beach last year. This girl loved the beach and playing in the sand. I absolutely adore the background paper, which is from Lily Bee Design's Sweet Shoppe Collection and may have bought a few more pieces of it :)

I cut the title "Beach" and "Girl" with my Silhouette Cameo. I cut the "Beach" from white cardstock a few times. I misted one of the cuts with Mr. Huey Shell from Studio Calico (one of my favorite mist colors), let it dry and then adhered the cuts together to give it a little pop.

The frame is from Crate Paper's The Pier collection. I received the frames in a kit and was not really sure if I would like them or not but I ended up really liking them. I now have a few ideas to use them some more.

I used the new Lily Bee Design letter stickers for her name and age. I love the new font!

ETA: Here is a link to my page at Two Peas in a Bucket, which shows most of the supplies I used.

Thanks for stopping by - Have a great Tuesday!

SOS Top 3

I have been absent from my blog due to a long needed vacation. I am back and feeling a little more rested.  When I got back I was happy to see that Scrap Our Stash Challenge blog announced their Top 3 layouts for June, and I was excited to be selected as one of the top 3 for my layout of my son Max! Here is a picture of the layout:

You can see my full blog post of the layout HERE. I also coincidentally won the prize so it was a double win for me this month :) It was my first month participating and am looking forward to participating some more!

Happy Monday!
