Scrap Our Stash Layout - Sketch with Stash Challenge #15

Today, I am sharing my layout for the Scrap Our Stash - Sketch with Stash Challenge #15. The Challenge is to create a layout using the sketch below and you must include enamel dots or sequins AND 2 different types of alphas. In addition, SOS is teaming up with the Child's Play and their Tie Dye Inspiration Challenge, so there is an extra challenge to combine the SOS challenge with the Child's Play Challenge. Here is the sketch and Tie Dye inspiration:

Here is my take on the challenge:

For this layout, I scrapped a picture of my son, Max in our "backyard" pool. Even though it is small, he has a lot of fun in it! I followed the sketch fairly close but did only use one photo. I was inspired by the Tie-Dye Challenge to make my own background. I used some Sixxiz circle dies and a Versamark pen to draw the circles on white cardstock. I then embossed them with white embossing powder. After embossing, I sprayed the background with three different Mr. Huey mist colors. To keep the circles white, I wiped the mist off with a baby wipe. I used vellum for the strips going from the top - down on the layout so the background would still be visible. I used two enamel dots in dark pink and used green thickers for "Pool" and small green block letter stickers for "Max".

The prize this month is a $15 Gift Certificate from Freckled Fawn.

All you have to do to be entered to win is create a layout that meets the challenge guidelines and then link it up at Scrap Our Stash by June 29th. We would love to see your take on the challenge!

The Greeting Farm Challenge - Make Your Own Background

Today, I am sharing a card I made for The Greeting Farm - Make Your Own Background challenge.  For my background, I adhered a white doily with temporary adhesive to use as a mask. I took my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool  and "stamped" blue circles around the doily and the entire card. I removed the doily, stamped by sentiment and added my image on top. I used an image from the Miss Anya Summer stamp set. I really like how it turned out.

Beach Layout using Studio Calico Hello Hello Kit

Today, I am sharing a layout made with the Studio Calico June kits - Hello, Hello. The kit is very bright and fun and perfect for beach photos, so I scrapped one of Max from our recent trip to the beach. I also used it to scrap some pool photos of Eli and just pulled out the blues, greens and yellows so it can be "toned down" as well. (I hope to share that one soon but need to block out some other kids' faces.)  Here is my beach layout:

Even though you cannot tell from my blog, I have actually been scrapping a lot of layouts this year. I try and keep track and this was my 52nd layout! That does not include project life or cards. I try and share what I can but probably my least favorite thing is actually taking pictures of layouts and editing them.

Well I hope you are having a good week. Thanks for stopping by!

The Greeting Farm - FFF Challenge - Color with Pencils

Hi all - Today, I am sharing a card I made for The Greeting Farm's FFF Challenge for this week "Color with Pencils." It has been a long time since I have used my Prismacolor pencils to color an image. I think the last time was when I was in junior high or high school and like to color Precious Moments coloring books with them! My mom bought my brother and I these pencils in junior high when we needed them for art class. We begged her to get us the "big" set of 48 and promised we would share. I remember standing there in the office supply store and her contemplating what to do. She did cave and got us the 48 pencil set, which was quite a bit of money at the time to spend on colored pencils! Well, I made sure to tell her not too long ago that she made a great investment because I still have them today...and occassionally use them on scrapbook page titles and now images!

The card I made for the challenge uses a stamp from The Greeting Farm set - Miss Anya Summer. This is such a cute set and fun to color! Here is my card:

Scrap Our Stash - Challenge #15 Layout

Happy Friday! Today, I am sharing my layout for the Scrap Our Stash - Challenge #15. The Challenge is as follows:

Create a MONOCHROMATIC layout and include the following:
1. Your layout should be different shades of 1 color.
2. You can add black, white or Kraft --- but 75% must be shades of 1 color.
3. STASH ITEMS: You must also add 5 (or more) DIFFERENT premade/prepackaged embellishments of your choice on your layout. You can use as many of the items you want BUT you will need to list 5 different items. (example - 2 paperclips, 4 buttons, 1 washi tape, 1 twine, and bling)
4. Please not what items you used in your write up. Thanks!

DUE: JUNE 29TH 11:59 PM (PST)
You are allowed to add whatever else you want to your layout as long as you meet the requirements above.

Here is my take on the Challenge:

For my layout, I used different shades of blue as I felt they complimented this picture of my youngest son, Max. For the title, I cut "that" with my Silhouette Cameo and used some older K & Company chipboard letters for "face". The chipboard was a lighter blue, so I used some prima chalk ink to darken the letters. My five different stash items used were 1 washi tape (navy polka dot), 2 chipboard shapes (heart & geotag), 3 puffy stickers (star & small dots), 1 flag clip (navy) and 1 label sticker.

The prize this month is a $15 Gift Certificate from Freckled Fawn.

All you have to do to be entered to win is create a layout that meets the challenge guidelines and then link it up at Scrap Our Stash by June 29th. We would love to see your take on the challenge!

A Random Fan - Challenge #10 Let's Polka

Hi All - I hope you are having a good Wednesday! Today, I am sharing a card I made for Challenge #10 Let's Polka at A Random Fan. I have been coloring a lot with my Copic markers lately and wanted to make a card for my dad for Father's Day using an image I could color. I googled "digital stamps golfer" (as my dad is an avid golfer) to see if I could find one and came across A Random Fan. The images are super cute, and I love that she has quite a few boy images as they seem harder to come by! Anyways, I found my way to their challenge blog and decided to color the A Random Fan image  - Digital Stamp - Little Golfer from her Etsy shop and link it to the challenge.  Here is my take on the challenge:

Copic marker colors used:
Face - E00, E11, E13
Hair/Shoes - E70, E74, E79
Hat/Vest - G40, G43, G46
Shirt/Patch - B21, B24, B26

Digital Layout using One Little Bird Sunshine in my Soul

Happy Monday - I am most definitely a paper scrapbooker but I saw the Sunshine in My Soul digital kit from One Little Bird and decided to purchase it (it was 20% off PLUS you received the Sunshine in My Soul journal cards free...it is now full price but still showing the journal cards free with purchase...). I thought I would print out some of the papers, which I have done in the past with digital kits. However, I ended up making a quick layout and liked how it turned out. I don't think I will be converting to solely digital anytime soon as I am on the computer way too much as it is but it was fun to mix it up. Here is the layout I created:

In addition to the layout, I used the journal cards and some of the elements as printables to document our vacation from last year in Project Life. I will try and share that soon!
